Gave it 4 stars because I am not sure about the other things they offer. But like I said above, if you have the time and energy to do this; I say go for it!!!
Beautiful campground, right on the river!! Staff and owner are awesome!!! 3rd year in a row we have been here, and coming back later this summer! Upfront about rates for kayaks and canoes, and what and is not available for rent... I recommend to everyone looking for a quiet campground
I have NO IDEA how this place was rated so high. Let's start with the outdoor r/c car track right next door that runs constantly throughout the day. Not only that, there is one restroom (not even port-a-johns here) and one shower for the entire campground to use (and you can forget about toilet paper in the restroom). They are both in the same room, so if you have to use the restroom while someone is in the shower, just forget about it. They advertise tube rentals, but when we got there, we were told that they don't do that anymore....but they'd be happy to sell you one of their overpriced tubes. We were told that canoes would be priced at much less than what we were charged. Ultimately, we paid over $150 just to take 2 canoes down river. Let's not forget, they charge the same amount per person if they are going to be riding In the canoes (even if they are children). But again, this is something that is NOT clear on their website. The campsites are ridiculously small and their "fire rings" are actually just old rims or 5 bricks in a circle. I was so excited to camp here from all of what they advertise. We tend to camp quite a bit in the summer. However, this is not a place I will ever revisit. Not worth the time or money. The only redeeming quality of this campground is that a couple of the employees were nice. Others, not so much. Because we booked and paid for this in advance, we pretty much just "dealt with it." But be warned. I really wish they had accurate reviews before booking this trip.

This is a great place to rent kayaks if you are looking to do some day that you have time. They have other things that you can rent out, camp, and other fun activities that I have not been able to do yet. But when I do, I will be sure to leave a review on it. Now back to the review on the kayaks. You have different locations where they will drop you off to start your journey. But as the closer you get to sundown, the fewer options you will have. Which makes sense because of timing. So as for drop off locations, you can go far West as the Defiance Dams, and as far East as Grand Rapids...ish. I did the one from Florida, OH and it was a blast. My fiance and I are looking forward to next spring to go do this again. So if you ahve the time and energy to do this; I say go for it!!!
